As a wedding florist, you get the chance to build the magical day so many little girls and boys dreamt about… Their wedding day!
If you’re like me – you’ve had the lucky opportunity of getting picked as wedding florist + bridesmaid on the same wedding. Not once, but twice has this happened in my career. It’s amazing, stressful and so so so heartwarming! But since, we’re just a few days shy of an anniversary – I’ll chat about my oldest gal pal’s wedding day at Hart House (October 2017).
Meet the Mr & Mrs! Aren’t they so adorably in love?! Talk about a match made in heaven!
When you’re recruited to do the job you love (wedding florist) and stand along side of your bestie while she marries the man of her dreams – it’s fantastic! But it’s a big job! It made me so happy, but yes (sorry, Elisa) at times it was stressful. I didn’t want to miss a second of my friend’s wedding day – from the sipping our morning coffees, to getting ready and everything else in between.
In order to make it work – I called in all the shots! I borrowed bridesmaids and their significant others to help me load in, build her ceremony arch, and floral up nearly every surface in site! With their added helping hands – we made it work! Even with amble time to spare to get myself ready and join in on the group wedding party shots!
Now let me walk you through her wonderful wedding!
The bride had both her parents walk her down the aisle – a detail I really love! I seriously appreciate bending traditional wedding “rules”. Her bridal party was so uniquely & lovely, too!
Along with the beautiful bride and her groom – the squad included 2 very pregnant ladies, her florist (me) along with a crowd of other great friends + family! Another detail I really enjoyed, the non-matching groomsmen suits. The bride told the fellas – just wear a suit you already own. In my opinion, turned out aesthetically so great! The bride, like true ‘Sex and the City’ fan – the rocked the iconic Manolo Blahnik’s shoes, that Carrie Bradshaw wore!
Get ready for this lush, greenery-based reception….. Oh my! How cute were the guest favours – assorted succulent in copper vessels, which we playfully scattered into the foliage tablescapes. My day-of recruited team (aka. spare hands from the wedding party) were a major help on the assembly of the foliage based garlands. Along with tear down, and nearly every detail!
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to the Mr. & Mrs. for having me apart of your day – it was wonderful creating these memories with you! I love you both! Muah!
